Saturday, June 6, 2026, is the Montée du Géant: accompany the Octave statue to its new quarters on the Tourmalet!

Save the date for the weekend of June 6th because it’s the cycling festival in the valley and at Chez Octave! As every year, the statue of the Giant Octave makes its transhumance to the summit of the Col du Tourmalet, and all cyclists are invited to accompany it on its ascent.

This year, the ascent will be via Sainte-Marie-de-Campan. We’ll meet you at Octave’s in Bagnères-de-Bigorre.

Provisional schedule (hours to come)

1️⃣ Meet at Octave’s in Bagnères for a coffee before departure
2️⃣ Start of the climb organized by the Departmental Sports Office
3️⃣ From 12pm: Welcome at the summit with a barbecue provided by the Department
