Chez Octave inaugurates its bike house in the presence of Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme and local elected officials
On Saturday June 3, at the end of the Montée du Géant du Tourmalet, Chez Octave was inaugurated in Bagnères-de-Bigorre, a place where cycling enthusiasts can meet up and share real moments.
The Montée du Géant, the perfect occasion to unveil the Octave house
Every year, as summer approaches, the statue of Giant Octave makes its transhumance in the company of numerous cyclists to its summer quarters at the summit of the Col du Tourmalet.
Our house “Chez Octave” took advantage of this cycling festival to unveil itself to the participants of the Montée du Géant. Welcomed with a cup of coffee, they were given a tour of the premises, which we hope will become their preferred meeting place. Bruno Armirail, a Groupama FDJ professional recently returned from a brilliant Giro and a member of the project, then guided all the cyclists to the start of the Tourmalet climb.
A visit in the presence of many personalities
Also present were the organizations and foundations that believed in our project and provided the necessary funding: Éric Perichon, director of the Gers – Hautes Pyrénées – Comminges territory of BNP, Christian Caussidery, director, and Hervé Deaubeuf, development officer of the EDF “Une rivière un territoire” agency, the Initiative Pyrénées agency and André Perrin, director of SDD65.
We also took the opportunity to thank all our collaborators, friends and families who were involved in the conception and completion of this project.
We’re now closing for a few days to finalize details before officially opening to the public on Wednesday June 14.
